Private Yoga Sessions With Sandy

Want to have me work one-on-one with you on correct alignment? Maybe you have questions you want to ask but can’t during class time? Perhaps there’s a health challenge or chronic condition you’d like to address?

Yoga therapy is that facet of the ancient science of Yoga that focuses on health and wellness at all levels of the person: physical, psychological, and spiritual. Yoga therapists prescribe specific regimens of postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to suit individual needs. Medical research shows that Yoga therapy is among the most effective complementary therapies for several common ailments. It helps to promote all-round positive health, as well as assisting particular medical conditions. The therapy is particularly appropriate for many chronic conditions that persist despite conventional medical treatment. Yoga therapy includes:

  • Physical assessment identifying imbalances in posture and patterns of movement
  • Chronic pain management
  • Lifestyle assessment and improvement coaching
  • Energy work, Reiki, Chakra Balancing
  • Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep)
  • Therapeutic yoga and Ayurvedic applications
  • Stress and Emotional Management for anxiety, depression, anger, insomnia and fatigue
  • Meditation

Private Therapeutic Yoga

Perhaps there’s a health challenge or chronic condition you’d like to address. Yoga therapy is that facet of the ancient science of Yoga that focuses on health and wellness at all levels of the person: physical, psychological, and spiritual.

Important Initial Appointment Information:

  • An initial Therapeutic yoga appointment will consist of Q & A to better understand the process. If there is enough time after our discussion, a physical assessment will also be done at that time. Please plan on a minimum of 90 minutes for your first therapeutic yoga appointment (at the $89 rate!). Subsequent sessions would be in one-hour increments.
  • An initial appointment for help with your yoga practice and no health challenges to address would be a less detailed Q & A. The appointment would be one hour long at the $89 rate.

Preliminary Meeting

A private physical assessment will help me to recommend particular yoga poses and practices for your body, and perhaps other lifestyle enhancements that might help you, after we discuss your questions and history. Feel better about your practice! Empower yourself to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga and Ayurveda.

If you think yoga therapy is something you’d like to look into, please contact me for a free 30-minute phone consultation to answer any questions you might have prior!

Private Yoga

Want to have me work one-on-one with you on correct alignment? Maybe you have questions you want to ask but can’t during class time? Or you prefer doing a weekly class all by yourself and not in a group.

Perhaps you’d like help establishing your very own private home yoga practice that you can eventually do on your own once we’ve worked together a few times. I can help you get started! A consistent yoga practice (perhaps daily?) builds upon itself creating a healing environment physically, emotionally and spiritually. It helps you get in touch with who you are at a deeper level. Once you get started, you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it!

Ayurveda Therapy

What is Ayurveda? Ayurveda is a sister science to Yoga. It literally translates to the “Science of Life” and incorporates all aspects of health—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Ayurveda is a Vedic Science that’s a 5000 year old traditional science designed to bring the body back to balance in order to heal from within. It incorporates nutrition, lifestyle, breath practices and more to bring you to balance—mind, body, and spirit.

Rather than looking at and “fixing” symptoms, Ayurveda looks at the whole person and seeks to balance areas that are out of kilter. Removing the imbalances goes to the root cause vs. just applying a bandage to the symptoms.

If you give the body what it needs to balance, it will begin the process of healing. Our bodies want to heal. It is our body’s nature to heal. We just have to give it the tools it needs for balance.

In a series of Ayurveda therapy sessions, we will work together to determine your unique mind/body make-up which then helps us to find where you’re out of balance. Then, considering all aspects of your unique mental, spiritual, emotional and physical life, together we will begin an individualized approach to bring you back to center, back to your true nature.

In the initial consultation, we take a full history of your life to analyze how deep any imbalances might be. Then, after researching your particular history, together we decide the best path toward wholeness using lifestyle practices, nutritional suggestions and perhaps herbal preparations.

It’s a journey we take together. I’m supporting you along the way with follow-up sessions either in-person or online with HIPAA-compliant software.

Typical sessions follow this pattern:

N

Initial appointment is 90 minutes to two hours along with a one to two week follow-up where we’ll decide together on a unique plan of action.

N

Then, I’ll connect with you via email in approximately two more weeks to see how you are doing.

N

Subsequent follow ups occur approximately four weeks apart, depending on both of our schedules and your progress.

REIKI THERAPY

What is Reiki? Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “spiritual energy” or “universal life-force-energy,” and in Japan it is used to describe any form of therapy that uses spiritual energy. Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique used to maintain wellbeing, reduce pain, stress & depression and stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities.

We have a physical body surrounded by an energy field. When we become unwell physically, emotionally or mentally this has an unbalancing effect on our energy field. A Reiki Therapist channels energy through his or her hands and by the gentle placement of hands on the physical body (or just above it) facilitates the rebalancing of the energy field which in turn may ease symptoms physically, mentally and emotionally. Reiki is one of the tools we can use to help achieve optimum health.  I have attained levels 1-3 of the Oshune Reiki method of Energetic Healing. Reiki Therapy includes Gem Stone Therapy, Chakra Alignment, Sound therapy and Aromatherapy.

Reiki therapy can be used to assist in:

“Ever since joining Better Day Yoga I have an improved sense of energy. I am much more in tune to my health, including both mind and body. Better Day Yoga has motivated me to take more time for myself and my health. Previously, I have not been on an exercise routine. Since starting my new job, which has a much improved work/life balance, and joining Better Day Yoga, I can now proudly say, “Yes, I exercise”! I now strive to exercise for 30-90 minutes five times a week. I look forward to additional goals that I will set in the future and milestones to accomplish. This is just the start to an open road ?

Thank you for your guidance, instruction and inspiration!”
