Now there are also studies showing that yoga may help lessen emotional eating. A study by Bruce W. Smith, PhD, assistant professor of psychology at the University of New Mexico, “found that yoga diminished binge eating by 51%, with participants losing an average of 6 pounds in 8 weeks. It may also help on a biochemical level. Researchers at Jefferson Medical College drew blood samples from 16 yoga novices and found that cortisol levels, a hormone linked to stress, dropped by about 15 to 20% as early as day one.” Do more yoga!
